intratec ab10 /dc9. FFL TRANSFER QUESTION

If i was to cut off the magazine release to make it not protrude out on an intratec ab10 or dc9. To only make it possible to release with a flat tip screw driver or other tools. And of course a 10 round magazine.. That would make it
CA LEGAL?.. The modification will be done out of state also.
