They even refused to ship one of the FN SPR's (bolt rifle) they were liquidating a few years ago. Then when I asked about shipping it through a middle-man, they accused me of attempting to do a straw-purchase.

Luckily the sales person referred me to a manager who allowed the sale to go through.

That's been my one and only experiance with them.

How does an FFL commit a straw purchase?

Many don't understand the concept of a straw purchase :-).

Under that "logic", all distributors are doing straw purchases, as well as all FFLs since the firearm is not actually intended for them :-).

If I ever hear that line from an FFL, I am simply going to state, "No, a straw purchases is when I fill out a 4473 and answer yes to the first question when the gun really isn't for me. I am an FFL and don't do 4473s. All I am trying to do is lawfully purchase a firearm, but your company is too stupid to understand that so you are forcing me to use a dealer that knows it is legal. And actually with that, I am going to exercise the Darwin option and not buy guns from stupid people. I will find it elsewhere. Thank you."
