Complete lower ar pistol from out of state

I'm wanting to purchase a RRA pistol lower from out of state off the web. Can I do this? Since it's not complete, does it still need a single shot sled and BB?

You must have an exemption from the roster for a pistol lower. Only complete single-shot AR type pistols are available to the general public.

Hmm. It's a little confusing as to what that rule is in place for. Pistol lower will be a pistol. What's the difference from a complete pistol? Either way, it will end up the same thing. So frustrating.

Because we have a "safe roster" of pistols, of which there are no AR weapons. To get around that they do the mod.

The only way you can do that is if you are exempt or they will single shot it for you. It is DROS'd as a pistol, so it must meet the requirements of buying a pistol. It doesn't need to say "pistol" on it, it could say donkey raping **** eater on it, it only matters how it is DROS'd.

I don't think you can do just the lower as the single shot exemption requires a certain length barrel and over all length. If you don't have a barrel, as in a complete lower, I don't know how it could meet the exemption requirements.

You need a complete ar pistol, with single shot fixed mag.

12133. (a) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a
single-action revolver that has at least a 5-cartridge capacity
with a barrel length of not less than three inches, and meets
any of the following specifications:
(1) Was originally manufactured prior to 1900 and is a curio or
relic, as defined in Section 478.11 of Title 27 of the Code of
Federal Regulations.
(2) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at
least 71/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and
barrel are assembled.
(3) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at
least 71/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and
barrel are assembled and that is currently approved for
importation into the United States pursuant to the provisions

single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six
inches and that has an overall length of at least 101/2 inches
when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.

I will make sure he has everything he needs to make your pistol single shot exempt before it gets shipped into CA. You just tell him which model you want and then start waiting. RRA has some pretty long lead times. I have one customer pistol that we have been waiting on for at least two months now, probably closer to 3 or 4 now that I think about it.

Thanks for the offer. It's not that I can't get a pistol but more that I wanted to assemble it myself and customize it through the process. Looks like it can't be done.

That is correct. So get the cheapest darn pistol you can and then add the upgrades.
