    Large Capacity Mag Permit A&D?

In perusing the Large Capacity Magazine Permit application, I noticed this language:

"Large Capacity Magazine permittees will be required to maintain acquisition and disposition records for all large capacity magazines they purchase, import or export".

What do you guys do for this? Are purchase/sale records in my accounting software adequate or does DOJ want separate spreadsheet/A&D book logging?

    Thanks.

I just made a printed log book that looks like my A&D book.

Yep...separate book. It's kinda stupid...because there is no way to identify individual mags...but the number and type on-sight should match what's on your book...and you take them in and disposition them just like firearms.

Do you have a link to the permit application?

Thanks guys. Dumb question - So, do you log them individually?

              Yep...if you get 5 mags with a pistol...five entries...lol

Just record make and model of the firearm they're for/came with, caliber, "N/A" for the serial number, who you recieved them from...blah blah blah.

I suppose we have to be careful that one may escape into the wild and kill puppies. Wow.

                Thanks..

I log them individually in case I sell one separately, but if you keep them together then you should be able to mark the number. I also keep track of the serial number of the firearm that the magazines came with, more for my tracking than anything else.

You're obviously forgetting where all these rules come from.

There is no serial number on a magazine. Just because something does not have a serial does not mean that you don't have to keep track of it.

In this case, the law is a bad joke and poorly written and should hopefully be tossed in Court.

WOW, with 4 hours of sleep I thought the idiots in govt. were trying to make us register our 'high cap' magazines. Thanks for the link.

This is total BS! I really hate laws like this. Honestly, how can this actually be enforced.... will I have to log all my personal standard cap mags?? With out recording serial numbers, how do they really expect you to do this??
