    FFL Retail Store front cost?

How much did it cost for you FFLs to start up a store with a decent inventory of guns, ammo, and accessories. I also forgot to mention the modeling cost of the store and required items such as registers, credit card machines, safes, etc...

You don't need to state the exact amount but ball park ranges i.e. 150k, 200k.

    Thanks

I would not start with less than 100k for retail based retail. Overhead is a huge issue.

Too many variables. How many square feet do you have in mind?

i'd say around 1500 sqft. nothing too fancy to start off with. just some basic handguns, long guns, olls, mags, holsters, ammo, clean kits, etc...

First, ask your local government what the fees are for a business license "valid for retail sale of firearms". You must start with that.

              $200 for the FFL
$40-$50 for two finger print cards to go with FFL app.
              $76 for the live scan/COE
$115 to get on the centralized list with DOJ
$195 for second hand dealer's license (if you want to do consignments)

That's all just the paperwork...shop costs and insurance...inventory...payment processing start-up costs are a whole other ball of wax.

$40-50 for FINGERPRINTS? I heard CA was more expensive for a lot of things but that is just ridiculous.

Cheapest I've found is $20 for 1 card of prints. Yeah...it sucks here. The place is falling apart...and they want to raise taxes. Any wonder we're 25 billion in the hole?

Good lord - here in Florida it's $5 a card, and sometimes they dont charge you for the second card.

There was a thread on this a month or two ago, you may be able to find it with a search. The general number was in the several hundreds of thousands IIRC.
