shipping out of state for refinish

sorry if this is the wrong forum please move if needed...

im looking to ship 2 long guns out of state to a custom builder for a refinish job. i spoke with him on the phone and everything seemed ok until he realized i am in CA. hes unsure about shipping them back to me and wants to check to see if its possible because he might need to ship to an ffl. i have read several threads and this wiki link http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/in...hin_California and im convinced that its legal but is there anything i can show him to help him understand that its ok to ship directly back to me?

i think the biggest concern is that hes not registered in the cflc and (it shouldnt matter) but they are mag locked aks.

the builder is gewehrwerks.com and from everything i hear he does awesome work and i eventually want him to build my yugo m95 kit that he sold me several months back.

second question- if i have the kit and receiver in my posession already, is having him build it and shipping it back to me the same? (considering that its built CA legal) thanks

no need for him to ship it to you via an in-state FFL.

12078(e) Section 12071, subdivisions (c) and (d) of Section 12072, and subdivision (b) of Section 12801 shall not apply to the delivery of a firearm to a gunsmith for service or repair, or to the return of the firearm to its owner by the gunsmith.
and since he is not shiping to an FFL, he doesn't need to do the CFLC either.

No. If you do not ship or transfer firearms to a California FFL, the CFLC program does not apply to you. If you decide to ship or transfer firearms to a California FFL in the future, you will be able to enroll in the CFLC Program at that time.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
