DMV address change.

I'm trying to take advantage of the GSSF program before it changes on May
1st. I moved and have the little Brown address change card from DMV. After hearing about the delays in getting new DL's I applied for an ID card. So far I haven't received it yet.

While applying for the ID card I was talking about the issue with the DMV clerk and she said that they no longer punch a hole in the old DL because of this issue, and that with the old DL, and the temporary Paper DL with the new address I should be good to go as the old DL is not invalid with out the hole. Is this true?

No. Unless the expiration date of the license has not yet been reached.

DMV doesn't give a hoot about buying guns. It may let you continue to drive...but that's about all you can do with that little rag of paper.

Expiration date is not expired, DL just doesn't have the right address on it.

Then it's good to go with something from a government agency which has your current address on it. Your D/L is still valid, and the printout from DMV with the new address would be good to go.

I had to do the same thing, went to the DMV got the Brown Card..... Brought a utility bill and I was good to go.
