Making the move from home base to storefront

It looks like we're just a few days away from putting money down on a lease for our first storefront. (fingers crossed)

I know there is a transition period for the FFL address change and for the DOJ. Does anybody have any feedback on how long it took to complete their address change?

Is there anything I need to put down on my checklist of things to do during this transition?

This is my check list so far-

-Change of address for:
business/retail license
regulatory permit
Sellers permit

-Notify the DOJ and ATF of change of address
-Notify the insurance company of change of address

Obviously I'll need to move the shop equipment, displays, inventory and other business related items as well.

Did I miss anything?

Congrats! I heard it takes around 30 days for DOJ and BATFE for address change.

No, I have other obligations. My church is having a men's ministry shotgun trap shoot event.

Sorry I don't have any info. When we moved I found it easier to just change my address than to change my address.

We bought 1255 Kern Street and merged the two lots with the planning commission so the new gun shop is still at 1277 Kern Street. No address change for me!!!

Thank you for the link Keith. We currently plan to the retail stuff (non-firearms) to the store front first and begin the 30 day application to move once we have our approval from the CLEO in our area. Have a few final phone calls to make to ensure that we are good to go before signing the lease agreement for the location. I'd hate to sign for a place and find out the PD or Fire won't sign off on the building location for the business license to change locations.

Just went through the address change and ATF took about 21 days. It goes from West Virginia, to the field office, then back to West Virginia. ATF was as helpful as can be and stayed friendly as I called periodically to get an update. DOJ was REALLY quick! I was very surprised at how fast they turned it around.
