using W-2 for secondary and CCW

Reading from some of the topics about secondary proof of residency, SOME FFL's recognize the W-2 as a legitimate proof of residency. My question is can a copy of my W-2 suffice or it needs to be the actually original (the mailed one from Sacramento)?

I ask this because my lease is almost up and I dont want to start another one. Im a college kid who doesnt have his car registered in my name or pay any bills. I can always draw up another lease agreement if W-2 doesnt work out. I also live in Kern County and want to get my CCW license. In addition to my driver's license, I still need 2 more proofs of residency. So I figured my W-2 and my lease agreement would work? Again no utility bills on my name

Ask the FFL you wish to transfer with...odds are a copy will not suffice though...too easy to forge/manipulate.

Unless the W2 is from a government agency, it does nothing. And only then will it suffice for the feds to certify your address when your DL/ID address does not match your 4473. The W-2 will not suffice for the state handgun requirements because it is not a government issued document with an expiration date or period of validity.
