I have a few questions and your responses will be greatly appreciated. i'm looking to do an out of state purchase on a new colt le6940. i've tried searching the forums but i cant find the answer i'm looking for. a local FFL told me that the rifle would need to be modified (bullet button and 10 round mags) before they receive it here in CA. He also told me that he wasn't sure if this was state law or if it was their company policy. Anyways, I found a dealer in another state who has the rifle for sale, but I called him and he won't make any modifications to the rifle. My question is
Is it against the law for an FLL to receive a rifle before it's been modified?
I don't know if i need to find a different out of state dealer, or a different FFL... It'll be easier finding a different FLL i'm sure. If this is case, can anybody suggest an FFL who'd be willing to make the modifications? I'm in Riverside. I dont mind paying for an extra service. Thanks for your time everybody.
