    d.r.o.s/serial number

does the d.r.o.s starts on the day you purchase the firearm? in this case.. i made a purchase from turners here in signal hill on the 5th of march and got the paperwork done but i never receive an actual date for the d.r.o.s. is it because they did not have the weapon in stock? i went back on the 17th and they told me that they needed to wait for the serial number to come in.. what might be the issue or how long might it take to receive the gun?
If Marines could get what they needed, when they needed it, we would be happy and wouldn't ready to kill people all of the time. The Marine Corps is like America's Pitbull. They beat us, mistreat us and every once in awhile, they let us out to attack someone.

DROS starts when your FFL receives the gun if I am not mistaken

Dros starts when it is electronically submitted. A longgun could be submitted before it is in physical possession by the ffl. A handgun dros can't be submitted without possession, need the serial number for it. Most likely they didn't have it in stock.

I have PLENTY of CA customers that request a serial number before I box the gun so they can start DROS. I've never had a problem providing it but some dealers will only DROS when the gun gets in front of them.

So long as you aren't operating garbage in/garbage out - I don't see how they wouldnt send it in unless the gun was not in stock and there was no SN.

(Take with NACL as I am not a CA DOJ licensed firearm retailer)
