Out Of State Private Party C&R Transfer

I want to buy this C&R Garand from a private party out of state. The seller is asking if I have an FFL that will accept shipment from an out of state private seller non FFL holder. Do FFL holder here in CA requires that the shipper is also an FFL holder? Thanks for any information/advice.

Some require that but it is up to the FFL. There is not a state law that requires a gun to be ship from a FFL.

Thanks Jerry. I thought it was state law. I guess I'll ask around to see if they are willing to accept from non FFL. Anyone know of an FFL that will do it for a reasonable price in the Sacramento area?
