Hunting rifle transfer question

Hello - I tried searching forum for this but came up empty (although I'm not real good with that ).

I'm a handgun guy so very familar with DOJ procedures on them but not on hunting rifles.

I'm buying a members 30-06 hunting rifle (NOT AR type) as a PPT and wanted to know what the transfer rules are. I have a FFL03 and COE, although the rifle is not a C&R gun.

Does this still have to go through a FFL01 and does the 10 day waiting period still apply.

He and I are both CA residents and the transaction will be FTF.

Nor will you find any difference between "AR type" and a "hunting" rifle as far as the law is concerned, in case you were expecting there to be.
