The store front (slip and fall) will cost from $1,200 to $8,000. This is for the sales of firearms and your landlord Try NRA for the best price.

Check with your city for license in sales. The liability insurance company does not care if it at your home. Some city's will let you do limited sale from home and other city's not at all.

In my experience it is cheaper getting quotes online. Some of the bigger companies offer discounts when ordering online, because it is less work for them. But to be safe you could compare quotes online, pick the best offer and try a local agency to see if they can match it or do better.

I recommend this site for online comparing: http://www.quotes-center.com/cheap-l...nsurance-rates

                NRA insurance

We had Chiarello for 12 years. At the time when we started up, Chiarello was the only game in town since no one would write insurance for Calif gun businesses. Market cornered, rate kept going up and up and we never had a claim. NRA comes in and is willing to write in Calif. for 1/2 what Chiarello demanded. We switch, then get a call from Chiarello asking for our business back at a significant discount...kind of insulted that they'd be willing to discount only after realizing we weren't coming back.
We're saving thousands going through NRA per year and the coverage is better.

There are more and more markets writing firearms dealers these days. My advice to you would be get a quote from the NRA and an independent agent. Compare the cost and coverage and pick the one you like best. If you want a quote from an independent agent, PM me your contct info

Alliant is a broker, not an insurance company. And I believe Lockton has the NRA program.

You're probably right, perhaps Alliant was the broker for Lockton? I went to the NRA for a quote and IIRC that is what I got at the time. It was a while ago so my memory may be wrong. I did not go with either of the companies I posted so my posting is not an endorsement, etc. but just some contact info I had left on my computer.

Would be interesting to see who offers the best package for home dealers at present.

NRA quoted me $700 a year for a dealer/ gunsmith policy, but they don't insure manufacturers...

I got the # off of the NRA website. It took a bit of work to get a live person.
