PPT/DROS QUESTION

So my question is, while drosing a new HANDGUN, can a ppt of a long gun be added to the purchase? I was under the impression that a LONG GUN can be added to the dros but I may be wrong. If this is correct, does this apply to a private transfer? Thanks for the input.

PPT requires a different DROS with both buyer's and seller's information.

One handgun...and only one handgun, per handgun DROS. At least that's what you are going to find in just about every shop you go to. I understand there is an interpretation of the code which might allow an FFL to "add" a long gun, not necessarily to the DROS, but to the 4473...but finding an FFL who will do this is the problem.

No, a long gun can not be added to a handgun DROS. Some claim otherwise, but it is just not supported by the CA PC. Each firearm transaction has to be reported and each handgun is a firearm transaction and any number of non-handguns that is part of a single loan, transfer or sale is considered a single firearm transaction. You can ask the CA DOJ and they will tell you that it can't be done as well.
