    ppt questions

Going to do my first ppt transfer. We have ffl picked out.
My question is when do I give the seller the cash? Do I pay before or after the transfer goes through? There is always the chance the guns could come back stolen or something else could happen.
Just trying to cover my butt.

    What are the usual steps?

I generally don't like customers counting out money for their part of the transaction on my counter...although it happens. When the cash actually changes hands is up to the parties involved. Usually it takes place either immediately before, or after doing paperwork. You could meet up someplace, inspect the firearm, agree on price, pay, then head to the FFL to do the transfer. Or, meet at FFL, do paperwork, and exchange cash after leaving.

Having a problem with the firearm very rarely happens, but in that case, it would be up to you to contact the seller and work out your refund.

It's an honor system framework...and I've never had any problems.
