    Another Roster Question

The roster lists Rossi DA revolvers using Rxxx (3 numbers) but their products use Rxxxxx (5 numbers). Is an R35202 the same as R352 that they just paid to keep on the list?

    R352 Stainless / Stainless Steel Revolver 2" .38 Spl 1/19/2012
    R461 Blue / Blue Steel Revolver 2" .357 Magnum 7/1/2011
    R971 / Steel Revolver 4" .357 Magnum 7/23/2011
    Any insight is appreciated.
    Jim

The other two digits appear to be the barrel length.

Pretty sure the first three digits are the model number, the last two are the barrel length (02=2" 04=4" 06=6") AFAIK. No idea why the last two numbers aren't included in the roster...but then again, the roster never made sense anyways.

In answer to your question, yes, R35202 is the same as R352...at least as far as DOJ knows.

I was hoping it was something like that. Seems odd that Rossi would pay the extortion fee for something they don't sell.

        Thanks guys

The problem is that what is actually certified and what the list shows are two different things. The CA DOJ has the specific model number, but they do not always post it on the list.

You have brought this up before. Why don't we access to it? Is it privileged information? Geez! Enough of this roster crap already.

You DO have access to it, you just need to call the CA DOJ and talk to the person responsible and they will answer your questions. Generally, they are very helpful.

Why this information is not on the web page is not something that I can explain as I don't work for the CA DOJ and I don't really understand how they operate at times (well, most of the time).

Yes, the roster is crap and I have heard that it will eventually go away due to court cases. I don't know when. It makes no sense, but then again CA keep charging the $300 smog impact fee, which went straight to the general fund, when they knew it was going to be thrown out in court due to a Florida case, but they kept taking the money until forced to change, then made people to request their money back, instead of using their own records to send the money back to those that they knew they charged.

Perhaps if voters would wake up and not vote for all of these clowns over and over again, then we could really improve things.
