    Military IDs and background checks

I wanted to buy a handgun from an FFL in CA. I am currently stationed in California (Pt. Mugu) but originally come from Texas. If I had a few "incidents" on my Texas driving record, as well as minor diciplinary actions at Pt. Mugu, will those show up on the background check?

I guess my main question is: Do the DOJ and NICS even verify that I am indeed stationed in California, or do they just check national records? I know that the DOJ checks your drivers license to make sure that it is valid and that you don't have a bad record, but will the DOJ also check my military ID (I don't have a CA drivers license) to verify that I have a good record?
    Thanks
    Al

I think you'll need a copy of your orders to show residency. Other than that NICS is a federal check of warrents, arrests, ect. A few minor traffic problems shouldn't be a problem.

If you military dicipline actions were just NJP, they wont show up on a BG check.
Common sense is so rare these days that it really ought to be classified as a superpower.
