if I was transferring 2-3 hanguns from you that were shipped from another FFL would you charge me multiple dealer fee's. $25 dros + $35-40 dealer fee for each gun seems like too much.

Are you exempt from the 1 handgun in 30 days law? Otherwise each tranaction is a full blown process with everything (including the $25 DROS) done anew with each transfer and the cost probably will reflect that.Last edited by halifax; 01-27-2011, 7:46 AM.Jim

Yes. Every single one is a new DROS, a new sales order, a new 4473, a new HSC demonstration, and thee logs in the A&D book.
Handguns suck.
For long guns it would be $50 plus $25 for as many as you want. No limit.
Now buy a bunch of goodies too and maybe you can convince me to knock a few bucks off, but the discount will be based on buying more items that don't necessarily cause me more paperwork.www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.Comment

If you are exempt from the 1 gun per 30 days, then there is a discount on the second DROS for handguns. It is not much, $4, but it is something.
If you are not exempt from the 1 gun per 30 days, then there is no savings in time or effort. Often the person does not pay in advance either.
Assuming an exemption from the 1/30:
I offer a discount for additional firearms transferred at the same time, but there is still work to do with any handgun transfer which are not reduced by multiple firearms. The main reason I do this is because there is slightly less time per firearm since the person is still there (overhead time of scheduling appointments, for example).
One 4473 can be used, so there is some reduced work there (just write down each DROS number). There is no need for multiple sales orders, so there is a slight reduced effort there as well.
Assuming that the multiple handguns are of the same type, the DROS entry is quicker, if not then it is a pain because the DROS entry system is broken and you have to call to get the fees corrected and that can take quite some time.
There is added work due to the multiple handgun form that has to be mailed it, plus the postage for it and/or dropping a copy off at the chief leo.
The bottom line is that there is quite a bit of time and effort by the FFL which the customer does not see.Kemasa.

A PPT required both the buyer and seller to go to the same FFL, otherwise it is not a PPT.Kemasa.

So if this were instead a PPT (both parties in person) of multiple handguns, say buying two from the same private party, then would the transfer go on one, thus incurring only one fee or would there be multiple fees?"THIS is the space typically used to impress others with wit & insightfulness..."Comment

There will be multiple fees, because only one handgun can be done per DROS [PC 12077(b)(1)].
However, since PPT fees are regulated by law [PC 12082(a)], it should be $35 fee ($25 DROS + $10 FFL fee) for the first transfer and $31 fee ($25 DROS + $6 FFL fee) for any subsequent transfer [PC 12076(i)(2)].Last edited by Quiet; 02-05-2011, 9:59 PM.sigpic

If the handgun is being shipped, then the transfer is subject to the 1 handgun in 30 day wait.sigpic

The break down is incorrect. The second transfer is $31, but the total DROS fee is $21 ($15 + $5 + $1), not $25 and the FFL fee is maxed out at $10, not $6.There will be multiple fees, because only one handgun can be done per DROS [PC 12077(b)(1)].
