    Would it be possible for me to..

    Purchase a firearm from a private CA Seller, Have it shipped to an FFL in Arizona and do the transfer and whatnot there? or does CA law forbid this?

      Yes, this is possible and is required by Federal laws.

      Federal laws require firearm transfers between non-licensed residents of different states to go through a FFL dealer in the recipiant's state of residence.

          CA cannot prohibit lawful transfer of interstate commerce. That is the correct and legal procedure for you to obtain a firearm from CA since you are an AZ resident.
