Hello I have a friend who's son in law wants to ship an sks from Texas to Calif for storage. How would that work. I think it would have to be shipped to an FFL first before he could recieve it.

You also need to make sure that the firearm is CA legal, which is not just a fixed magazine.
It is possible to ship a firearm to yourself, but then the package should not be opened by anyone other that the person who shipped it. So, in theory the person could ship the firearm to himself and have it stored, unopened in the box. Having it stored might not apply though.Kemasa.
