10th Day Phone Call

I'm on pins and needles waiting to pick up my first handgun. I have a misdo on my record, but after doing extensive research, I'm 98% sure I'll pass the background check. Today is my 9th day waiting to pick it up and I haven't received a call from the store denying me. I'm just wondering; If I make it through the day today, can they still call me tomorrow and deny me? Or am I home free on the 10th day? Lame question I know, but I'm so anxious!

I need a drink.....

You should be fine, I have 2 misdo's from 20 year's ago and have never had a problem.

Same here i was so nervos on my first purchase a couple years ago, went to pick up and what a relief!!!! Also just got a gun back the the pd had for over 2 years!!!

An Employee at DGM in San Diego told me if you don't get the call in the first twenty four hours you're good to go. Don't know if this is B.S. or not but I sure hope so as I enter my third day of waiting to get my Beretta 92fs m9a1. I'm a noob to the whole process so I can't confirm the above statement with any past experiences.

Denial/hold can happen at anytime, even after the firearm is delivered (after 10 days). It all depends on the reason.

There is a DOJ check, which typically happens very quickly (within minutes), but that is not the only thing that can cause a problem. I would suspect that any background issues would be caught by this, so that would not come up as a last second issue, meaning that you should not have anything to worry about.

Kemasa: I did check the list of prohibiting misdo's a little while ago. Mine doesn't fall under any of those. The one thing I'm worried about is the fact that I am still on Informal Probation. I wasn't able to check my probation terms, but it wasn't an assault/ battery crime, so I'm assuming there is no restriction in there.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Thanks.

I would expect that if you were going to be denied that it would occur right away under the conditions that you mentioned.

The shop knows by now if you've been denied, it's really up to them if they want to call you about a denial or wait to you come in for pick up. You could always call and check I suppose.
