BATFE FORM 6 Needed for a STOCK ??

I am attempting to obtain a polymer stock for an H&K rifle from Europe. Just the stock, not a receiver, lower, upper, grip or anything else, just the stock. The vendor is of the belief that a Form 6 is required (as well as BATFE approval) in order to have it shipped to the U.S.

It is my belief that a stock in not an "... implement of war ... " etc. but I've never dealt with any Form 6 issues before. The regs say "parts" but people get parts all the time form Europe w/o a Form 6.

Anyone with any knowledge or experience with importing a stock that the seller claims falls under Form 6 regulations? Thanks for any help.

On the ATF web page that deals with importing they say that implements of war "include magazines, grips, barrels, mounts, scopes, and night visions, etc." So if they are including grips they probably also include stocks. If the stock is worth less than $100 then you might not need a Form 6 to import it.

I was afraid of that...I've ordered the Form 6 so that I can try to legally import my "implement of war" polymer stock. Thank you for the replyl

Here's what it looks like with the airsoft version. The rifle now has a longer flash hider and an single optic carry handle with an Eotech on top. The airsoft stock has held up well, it is made with a fiber impregnated polymer. I've shot it many times and no ill effects from the .223 recoil.
