Looking to start a at-15 build ASAP!

Hello,
In purchasing a ar-15 (a LONG GUN not a handgun) here is what I am assuming is true:

1. I need a California Driver's License

2. I don't need to provide proof of residency, utility bill (remember long gun purchase, not handgun)

3. I don't need to give a thumbprint


Are these true?

If yes, looks like waiting for the drivers license is going to be the most time consuming process.
