    Kimber Nomenclature

As listed on the DOJ Roster:

Pro Tactical II / Blue Steel, Aluminum Pistol 4" .45 ACP 7/17/2011

    As specified on Kimber's website:

    Tactical Pro II .45 ACP

Is the Pro Tactical the same as the Tactical Pro?

Probably a stupid question but why the reversed nomenclature?

You expect DOJ to get it right? This is the kind of stuff that makes the list so stupid. I can hear it now:

"No, you can't have it, the only one on the list is a Pro Tactical II...the one you want is a Tactical Pro II"

It (the list) just really needs to go away.

Not made anymore...and honestly don't know if that one was ever on the list.

Which one are you talking about?

as the OP stated the list shows

Pro Tactical II / Blue Steel, Aluminum Pistol 4" .45 ACP 7/17/2011

which if you go by the strict definition of the list, the Pro Tactical II, is the one that is listed not the current Tactical Pro II.........and you're correct the Pro Tactical II is not made anymore.

Not too likely they would pay to keep a gun that's been out of production on the list...and as I said...I can't even be sure the actual "Pro Tactical II" ever was on the list. There is no archive of listed guns.

Going "strict definition" is a little tough in this instance since the Kimber website says NEITHER gun had a "Blue Steel" slide. They both have a black finish. So strict definition says a gun that doesn't exist is on the list. DOJ is notorious for typos/misprints. That's one of the things, again, that makes the list so stupid.

                Gawd! What BS.

Luckily, my customer went for this one:

                Tactical Custom II (3200137) / Blue Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 12/19/2011
Someone please, please get rid of the Roster
                Jim
