Buying a firearm from a not-so-free state from a free one?

Greetings, FFL's, Ive been wondering if I can come from Arizona and buy a firearm in California, As I like to support business I used to shop at before I moved. Question is, As an AZ Resident, Am I still subject to the waiting period and whatnot, When purchasing from California? Thanks - James

As an AZ resident, you may not purchase firearms in CA. CA, and the DROS system, only recognizes three types of ID as "valid", a CA DL, ID, and Military ID with orders to a duty station in CA.

You can buy from a Calif FFL, but the Calif FFL must ship directly to your local AZ FFL for final processing, etc. You can only take possession in AZ once all paperwork is completed.

While true for long guns...I don't think I've ever heard of a practical instance where this has been done...not from a legal perspective...simply a monetary one...why am I going to buy a firearm in CA and pay for shipping to another FFL who is going to charge an additional fee, when I can walk in to my local store...and walk out with the gun I want same day?
