Never picked up firearm after DROS. Question?

I had some stuff come up last month and didn't pick up a firearm from a local FFL dealer. It's been more than 30 days. He is saying a form needs to be sent to DOJ saying I didn't pick up the firearm. He needs info, etc. I thought, if I didn't pick it up, he could sell it after the 30 days and nothing else was needed?
-If you insult me for my grammar errors, what makes you think I understand the insult?
-Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Are we done
-Voting is like falling off your bike. Sidewalk or street. Both are painful to fall on. But, the sidewalk (Mitt) is closer to the green grass.

I think it would need to be re-drosed because it is only good for 30 days

I am going to pass on it. I told him that. He said ok. I explained why. So, FFL shouldn't need anything from me?

If it is a handgun, the state doesn't know if you picked it up or not. So if the dealer doesn't send in a canceled DROS, then the state assumes you picked up the handgun. So the handgun will be in your name!

          Fee for that?

If the dealer wants to charge a DROS cancellation fee, they can. If you don't pick up your gun, I take the $25 DROS and my policy says $25 or $50 for my time. I don't remember which one.

It is entirely up to the dealer.
