    INTRA-FAMILIAL HANDGUN TRANSACTION

My mother lives in Nevada. She bought a Glock 26. It's too much for her and she wants to give it to me. I live in CA. Can I take possession and fill out a INTRA-FAMILIAL HANDGUN TRANSACTION document and send it in to DOJ? Or is there more to it since she lives in Nevada and I'm here in CA.

    Thanks

    nope.

    yup

because she lives in NV and you live in CA, it would be a violation of federal law for her to give you the handgun directly. In order to make it legal, it must be transfered to you through a CA FFL. CADOJ (and some uninformed FFLs) may say that you can use the intra-family form to register it, but that form does not satisfy federal law.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
