The ATF has arrived. My agent's take on the new multiple semi-auto reporting.

My auditor showed up today for an audit. We inventoried the guns and everything was there. Much better than last time. She will be back tomorrow to look at the 4473s.

I asked about the new requirement for reporting multiple semi-automatic, detachable magazine long guns. She thinks it is pointless. She brought up the great point that how is she supposed to know it is a semi-automatic, centerfire rifle with a detachable magazine? There is no way to determine that from just the 4473. She doesn't seem to think that it is going to fly.

Overall, I really like my auditor. No nonsense, but sharp as a tack. The only thing I don't like is she is going to retire someday and I am going to get a new one.

I really doubt it, unless by someday he means 30+ years.

Does section 26 state if it was a semi-automatic? Does it state if it had a fixed magazine device? Does it state if it was a pump action AK? I usually describe them as "rifle" and that is it. The caliber would answer whether it was a centerfire or not. I guess you could use the comments section to declare what it was. However, I like the less is better approach to a 4473.

And seriously, the hot comment is uncalled for. Remember this is a public forum and we are talking about my auditor who could come read this. That is just about as unprofessional as it gets and now my thread has three replies all about the looks of my auditor.

I also recall certain pictures you've posted that is questionable - Or the actions you've taken as a CGF member that is questionable -

If you think she would actually look at this thread then the proper response would have been yes she hot.

Please ask your ATF auditor about the number of receivers one can make as an individual!

Why would one ask that? It's not codified into law, so the answer is somewhere between "1" and "it's starting to look like you're a business and need a license".

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

This is the FFL Forums and we go through regular audits. Don't try to turn this around on me. His comment was in appropriate. If you want we can run it up to the head janitor and see if he thinks I shouldn't have posted about my audit or if my posting I had an audit opens up my thread to having to accept sexual harassment. I won't bother to report the post as I know the answer, but you feel free to if you want.

List some questionable things I have done.

I am an adult and if I want to post pictures of myself in my underwear with JK Supply Co shirts and pink rifles, that is my choice. Why would that be inappropriate?

Are we going to bring up the Bidscapes thing? What do my personal business decisions that have zero risk to me have to do with the CGF? Answer: nothing. I tried Bidscapes, the only bids I got were fraudulent, so I dropped it. It had nothing to do with the CGF and was my business decision. So which questionable CGF decisions are you talking about because my trying Bidscapes had nothing to do with my position as a CGF board member.

Sorry, but asking if an ATF auditor is hot is just plain inappropriate. You don't have to like it, but that is how the professional world works. Female auditors are not sexual objects. They are there to do a job.

If you want to make your own thread rating ATF auditors, be my guest. I am just asking that you not ask those questions in my thread. I hope you can take a step back and understand publicly stating this is inappropriate is the only appropriate response I can give.

If you still think it isn't a big deal, why not ask me which one of my underage students looks the hottest? Then get upset when I tell you that is inappropriate.

So the audit is over. We only had one write up for a 4473 that had the straw purchaser question answered wrong. I just had to reiterate to my employees how important it is to double check those questions.

Overall, I really, really appreciate my auditor. She really makes an audit a positive event.
