I've never actually heard much about PPTs in Bakersfield. I know most of our gun shops are decent as far as customer service, but how do they handle PPTs? Then good news is I haven't heard any horror stories so I would just choose the one with the best hours and closest to the Freeway. Probably 2nd Amendment.

I would probably stay away from the Ammo Dump for PPT. Pete can be particular.

I hate Second Amendment, nothing but rude snotty kids who haven't got a clue. (at least that has been what I have seen) I know several guys who have been less than happy with their deals.
Valley Gun is a good shop, if you want a store.
If you are looking for a super friendly guy who does a great job try Get A Gun. Rafael is great, knows what he is doing and is very fair with his prices. He is available all day, most days and at hours that most stores are closed.

I'll be coming from Barstow, so Bear Mountain will probably get the nod.

Rafael at Get A Gun 661-978-6450. No gun store FUD, will save you money, open evenings and weekends..... what more do you want.

Ray Cox, he is an in-house FFL guy. Plus his dog is awesome.

The only reason I don't recommend the kitchen table guys for this is it is a PPT. It is all about convenience. I even tell my own customers to do PPTs at the Bakersfield stores as that $10 isn't that important to me and I would rather them save their gas money.

Thanks again for all the responses. What would a shooter do without the friendly people at Calguns?
