    How would one prove ownership of a magazine predates 2000 if there is no paperwork or receipt, such as items purchased at shows, etc?

      Burden of proof is on the state.
      You don't have to prove anything.

      They have to prove one of two things:

      1 - That you imported the magazines from out of state after December 15, 2007

      2 - That you manufactured the magazines after December 15, 2007

      In another thread, Bill mentioned a couple of CGN cases involving legally owned magazines where the charges were dropped when the DA was reminded of the 36 month statute of limitations.
