I have a PPT question, any help would be great..

OK, so hears the deal. I sold a Rugger 10/22 to a friend of mine I live in California he now lives in CO. we never did a PPT, my question is what part of the rifle dose he have to send back to me to do the PPT? I didn't think he had to send the complete rifle, I thought he just had to send me the part with the serial number and manf. info ingraved on it.
again any help would be great...

pretty hard to "make it legal" now. Was the buyer a CA-resident when the deal was done? Because, now, as a CO resident, if he were to send the receiver (the part considered the firearm), there would now be 2 new federal firearms violations of the law, even if you intended to ship it back to his FFL.

Since he lives in CO, you can't do a PPT, but would have to do a transfer through his local CO FFL.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

When the sale was done is important since if it was long enough ago, it would have been legal.

You can not undo what was done.

What are you trying to do now? Since he is not in CA, you can not do a PPT. You could go to a CO FFL and have the transfer done there.
