    Gander Mountain Fishing??

I got a letter today from Gander Mountain thanking me for being "a part of our FFL Preferred Transfer Dealer Network" and reminding me that my FFL "has expired or is about to expire" so send a new copy.

I have no record that I ever sent a copy of my FFL to them nor is my license expired or about to expire. It appears that they are about to expand their on-line "endeavor" and want to include me. Why the hell don't they just say that instead of attempting this backhanded means of getting me to join them?

    Anyone else get this letter?

Nope, however it sounds familiar. Just ignore them.

I suspect that they do it because it often works. There are scams that send bogus bills to people and I hear that quite a few actually pay them. I have personally seen medical companies play games with bills and try to get more money than they deserve, which is a scam as well. I suspect some people fall for it.

Due to the wording and lack of doing business with them, I would avoid them and I would let them know why.

Right. Just the kind of company I want to partner with.
