Our merchant accounts and our business accounts are through Compass Bank. We had tons of problems finding a new bank after Chase refused to process credit cards because of the firearms sales. They are very gun business friendly. Their merchant rates are on par with any of the good ones out there. It's nice to have it all in house with my bank also.Comment

Most Banks don't actually do their own credit card processing anymore. They outsource to large processors like First Data. First Data and Chase don't do online gun sales anymore but this doesn't mean one of the banks that use them won't still allow online gun sales. We've also been told by Authorize.net that they will no longer allow online gun sales and they use Wells Fargo for their merchant accounts.Comment

The word on the street is that Square is letting FFL's sign up to accept credit cards then after a few weeks they shut down the account and freeze the funds?
Has anyone ran into this problem?Comment

Firearms are prohibited in Square's terms and conditions. The same terms and conditions you agree to when you sign up. It's not so much that Square is letting FFL's sign up and then locking them out. FFL's are signing up and agreeing to not do something and then doing it. We looked at them for a mobile processing solution, saw they prohibited firearms and moved on to another company.
The freezing of funds once the account is closed is standard to cover potential charge backs. That also would have been covered in the T&C. Once the charge back time has expired the funds will be released.
Good luck.Comment

Yep, Payment Alliance has been great for us. No issues at all and we recently started using it with our web store site. Easy.Comment
