I am interested in pursuing a type 1 FFL for the purposes of gunsmithing. I live in an unincorporated area of Orange County. The County Sheriff issues business licenses to gun dealers, but the woman told me that gunsmithing was not a business they issue licenses for. She also sent me a letter stating the businesses they do issue licenses for. Is that going to work for DOJ or is any type 1 FFL even if gunsmithing going to need the gun dealer business license?
