    DOJ inspection

    Question for other FFL dealers:

I recently received my 07 FFL and am in the process of submitting my local business license to the DOJ for my CDL # and hi cap permit.

Just wondering what I need to have prepared for my DOJ inspection.

My business is a home based business and will be for a few more months until I can move to a retail location and submit my change of address.

    Any pointers?

Signage. Have all the required signage in place including the licences and permits that need to be posted.

Btw: Do you mean CFD (not CDL)?

Don't forget to have a reason for your large capacity magazine permit. A simple "I need a large capacity magazine permit for sales to local law enforcement and out of state sales." is all you need, but you need to include that in a letter or they will kick it back.

I don't remember the DOJ inspecting before we got going. Only the ATF actually stopped by.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Thanks to everybody who's replied. I had a rather lengthy interview with a super nice ATF agent when we first applied for our FFL and she gave lots of pointers that helped us along the way.

As I understand it as I'm going for my CFD listing there is supposed be another inspection by the DOJ.

So far I've heard a number of FFL dealers say they've never had inspection by this department (the DOJ). Has anyone ever had this inspection?

AFAIK, they only inspect after a year and then I don't know, just had my first, it has been just over a year.

Took more than two years before my first CA DOJ inspection happened.
