One handgun every 30 days law????

So on the 23rd I purchased a NEW pistol from my local dealer, and I am currently in my 10 days. Last night online I saw an AMAZING deal on a ** $650 NEW KIMBER 1911 (Pictured attached)**. I HAD to buy it right then (Wouldn't you?), if not someone else would. Anyways since the gun on the 23rd was a NEW purchase, do I have to wait till next month to do the DROS on the NEW KIMBER which is coming from "OUT OF STATE" or since it is coming from "OUT OF STATE" is it considered a ppt?

Not considered a PPT. 30 day rule is in effect, but from the time of the start of the first DROS. Is this pistol on the approved handgun list?

Out of state transfers are dealer sales. Your FFL will need to hold it until your 720 hour delay (1 in 30 rule) passes before you can DROS it. On roster, I assume.

A Kimber Stainless II is on the roster. So have it shipped to your dealer. Your dealer will then sit on it until July 23rd (I would recommend the 24th just to be safe). Then you will go in and start that transfer.

Unless it is a PPT or you are law enforcement, you are limited to one handgun every thirty 24 hour periods.

Get a C&R FFL and CA DOJ COE and then you won't have to wait.

Yes the kimber 1911 Custom II is on the Roster. And I have considered the C&R FFL but I'm not sure if I like the whole "Inspection once a year thing". Anyways Thanks for the info. Do FFLs charge for storage more than 30 days?

the inspections is not like a dealer,it could be looking into bound book entrys at a office, and it is scheduled-you won't have the atf pounding on your door at 3am ,so get the ffl and coe

The picture you attached is not a Kimber Custom II. It is a Stainless II. The good news is the Stainless II is still on the roster.

It is up to your dealer if he is going to charge you. I personally wouldn't. I have a customer right now that is on like handgun #4 of 6 that we had stacked up.

I don't think that the ATF inspects dealers once per year. I have also had a C&R FFL and have never had that inspected since 1993.
