What qualifies as an LEO for State/Feds?
For an ATF agent, does anyone that has an ATF looking badge qualify? I'm not sure if every ATF employee gets a badge or not. I'm not even sure if I need to care. The badge isn't shiny like an LEO shield, it looks more like a passport or maybe even corporate ID sort of thing.
My question is if they work for the ATF and have a picture identification thing that says the agency + some identifying number does that qualify them for roster exemption? The exemption talks about peace officers so I'm a little confused if anyone working for an agency such as the CHP, ATF, DOJ, etc... that has an employee badge basically with an ID number if that qualifies..
A related question relating to copying (or rather not copying) federal identification.. does that count for military IDs? I've been keeping copies of military IDs for HSC exemptions and only realized recently when talking to my wife that it is also a federal document.. I can go back and destroy my copies noting the information as I would other federal documentation, but wanted to get some clarification.
Thanks!
