    FFL buying handguns question

When an FFL purchases and PPTs a handgun to himself/herself, does he/she have to purchase a lock?

Does not satisfy ATF for handgun sale, unless FFLs are exempt.

Don't FFL's are exempt, can't you just get a $5 lock and note the make and model on DROS/DOJ worksheets? I am curiuos as well, I have 3 I need to transfer to my self.

You don't have locks lying about the store? You don't have a lock in another gun box somewhere that you can use for this transaction then put it right back into the box you took it out of?

Sorry I didn't answer your original question, it would take too much effort to look that up instead of just using another lock you have in the store.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Taking a lock out and putting back isn't the issue I believe. The issue is the documentation, with that said, I think a purchase receipt and a lock ID in the comments section will satisfy both the DOJ and ATF.
