Sig Blacwater Tactical on the DOJ List?

I can't see a difference in what Sig SAUER called their P226 Blackwater and this Blackwater Tactical pistol aside from the longer grips;

Is the addition of the word "Tactical" enough to limit this to LEO purchase only?


Looking for opinions and if a Bay Area gun shop might have one for sale based on this list entry that expires 12/19/2010.

The BW Tactical has a beavertail and SRT; enough to make it off-list. Factory mags are only large cap also. But you can still get one in CA:

It has to be the exact model, anything which changes the model, except for nightsights, means that it has to be listed separately. Take a look at the Glock 17 & Glock 17 OD. The Sig Pink Mosquito is not on the list and that is just a color difference, although some FFLs sell it claiming it is the two-tone or something.

Sig has discontinued the Blackwater line completely. They say they will be filling the backorders. The BW's have been replaced by the Tactical Ops...still an off-list pistol.
