    Help please with transfer DROS sale

    So I have a gun on the way to the FFL I dont have the funds to keep it so im selling it for what i spent with that said, can i sell the gun to somebody else? with out transferring it to my self first? if we both go into the shop (me and the buyer) can he just DROS it to him self or do I have to DROS it to me then PPT it to him?

    Just tell the gun shop that you didn't have the money and sold it to that guy instead. If the dealer says no, then that is his choice. I personally don't care who does the DROS as long as they are the person who is really buying the gun. There is no reference to help you out. It is up to the dealer and their level of prying into the mechanics of the deal.

      Since no DROS has been completed I would think anyone could be the buyer. It makes no difference at this point who paid for the gun. Call it a gift, debt repayment or whatever. Only thing that matters is that it is not a straw purchase and he fills out the DROS himself in his name.

        I would call the FFL and explain the situation and ask if it is a problem. The only issue is if it is a straw purchase. The FFL might also be willing to hold it and then ship if you sell it to a person who can not come to that location.
