ATF visit this Friday.. (UPDATE)

Well after jumping thur all the hoops the last month and a half the ATF inspector is coming to the house this Friday morning for a sit down. Any thing I should know or have? I have a local business license from the city saying " valid for retail firearms sales" and valid as a home occupation business, have resale permit, tax payer id and fictitious name statement on file... Is there anything I'm missing? I have a CFD packet ready to go, just waiting on the FFL #, and made an appointment for the live scan for the COE..... And yes you still can get a city to sign off on selling firearms from your house, just need to be persistent.....

It's not that bad. They are going to go over all the laws that will pertain to you. They have a checklist. It is mostly stuff you should know already.

You will be disappointed with the ATF inspection. It is really laid back and mainly a checklist they go over with you and then they let you loose with really no knowledge of what you are doing only to find out you were doing something wrong four years later when you get audited.

Yeah I got his checklist when I ordered a sign package. The checklist is nice it has things that would be easy to miss/forget....

You only get the letter if you didn't have all your required permits and licenses at the time of the audit.

I didn't have everything at the time of audit (told my auditor that), but didn't get the letter either. It could be because I let her know straight up at the time of audit that the local city permit process was slow and I couldn't guarantee 30 days from the time I received the FFL. She basically told me, that's ok, just get it as soon as possible.

well my 3 hour visit with the ATF went smooth, had no problems. Inspector said everything looked good and that my FFL would be in the mail within the next 1-2 weeks. I guess now it is time to deal with the state.. oh joy...
