    Restriction on Threaded RIFLE Barrels?

    I strongly suspect FUD, but a supplier of AR parts recently changed its policy and will not ship barrels to California (used to, but no more). They said that they "could not ship threaded centerfire rifle barrels to California."

    Am I correct in assuming that this shop is wrong?

      They are wrong. Of course I heard the same FUD at a local OLL friendly shop too.

      The barrel must be a minimum of 16", if it's less than that you can have a permenately attached muzzle device to bring it to the 16" minimum. If it's threaded, less than 16", but the muzzle device bringing it over 16" is pinned or welded, it's still legal.

          AW regs prohibit threaded barrels on semiautomatic handguns with detachable magazines.

          Although there is no explicit constructive possession clause pursuant to assault weapons I personally would advise against have a complete Glock and a separate threaded barrel sitting in my range bag.

          Companies are of course able to sell whatever and to whomever they choose. NFA rules always apply.

              Sounds like this "parts supplier" is waaaaaaay late to the party...lol.

                      pistols? yes. rifles? NO. just about every AR barrel sold in PRK is threaded.....just another ill informed supplier. Try to get them onto Calguns so they can: 1) Get educated, and 2) possibly get more business
