Interstate Intrafamilial Transfer question

Hello all, I just posted this in the handguns forum earlier about my Grandfather sending me, from FL, his early '80s S&W .357.

Now I understand that roster status doesn't matter in this situation. Is there anyone in the greater SGV/LA/OC/IE area that is willing to perform this transfer knowing the facts?

See if you can find someone who has posted that they will do it. Or you can contact a FFL and give them the information. I personally have checked with the DOJ and was told how to do it, so it is not something which is questionable, as long as you know what to do and what to ask :-)

We can do it for you. Along with his ID he would just need to include a quick memo indicating that it is an interfamiliar transfer and his relationship to you.

Yes, but it is not at the top of the FFL forum, which is where I think that people might see it. Perhaps a FAQ for such issues would be good, rather than separate lists, including a link that that location.
