How do you check the handgun a customer wants to sell to an FFL if it is stolen? I am still waiting for my Secondhand Gun Dealers Permit and I have 3 handguns a customer wants to sell to me.

Now I need to figure out a way to take them in so I can sell them. If I PPT them to me, don't I have to wait a year to sell them? I haven't received my Secondhand Firearms Sales Permit yet. Can't I use the Handgun Acquisituion form?_____________________________________________

You can buy them as a PPT. You can sell them within a year, but as I recall you need to transfer them through your business, not privately sell them. I don't think that this is much of an issue in CA since all sales have to go through a dealer.
BUT if you are buying the firearms and transferring them to bypass the requirement to have a secondhand firearms sales permit, then you could have a problem. If you buy them and keep them until you have the permit, then I doubt that there would be an issue.
Based on what you have said, the proper way is to wait until you have all the required permits.Kemasa.
