How many PPT's can someone do in one year as a seller without an FFL?

It depends on whether it is a handgun or a long gun:
CA PC 12070
12070. (a) No person shall sell, lease, or transfer firearms unless
he or she has been issued a license pursuant to Section 12071. Any
person violating this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
(b) Subdivision (a) does not include any of the following:
(1) The sale, lease, or transfer of any firearm by a person acting
pursuant to operation of law, a court order, or pursuant to the
Enforcement of Judgments Law (Title 9 (commencing with Section
680.010) of Part 2 of the Code of Civil Procedure), or by a person
who liquidates a personal firearm collection to satisfy a court
judgment.
(2) A person acting pursuant to subdivision (e) of Section 186.22a
or subdivision (c) of Section 12028.
(3) The sale, lease, or transfer of a firearm by a person who
obtains title to the firearm by intestate succession or by bequest or
as a surviving spouse pursuant to Chapter 1 (commencing with Section
13500) of Part 2 of Division 8 of the Probate Code, provided the
person disposes of the firearm within 60 days of receipt of the
firearm.
(4) The infrequent sale, lease, or transfer of firearms.
...
(c) (1) As used in this section, "infrequent" means:
(A) For pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being
concealed upon the person, less than six transactions per calendar
year. For this purpose, "transaction" means a single sale, lease, or
transfer of any number of pistols, revolvers, or other firearms
capable of being concealed upon the person.
(B) For firearms other than pistols, revolvers, or other firearms
capable of being concealed upon the person, occasional and without

They enforce what they want. You can push the issue by asking to talk to a supervisor. You could also report the person to the admins since if he is selling on a regular basis, he would need to be a dealer to be legal. If the person is following the law and properly doing the transfers, then there really should not be an issue, except perhaps with sales tax. The BOE might care since they are missing money from the sales if the person buys a firearm and then sells it at a profit.
This is part of the problem with the whole system. If there is a law, then it should either be enforced or removed, plus the law needs to be reasonable, which often it is not and often it does not make sense.Kemasa.

That's weird that CalDOJ wasn't interested. I called them just the other day to report that my brother was loading 11 rounds into his 10 round magazines and they sent out a dynamic entry team to kick in my brother's front door and drag him off to jail.
For being such a good citizen, they gave me a ride in the helicopter, a Crime Stoppers coloring book, and a real badge...

I was on gunsamerica.com and saw a listing in my little town. Then I clicked on the guy's other sales and found DOZENS! Some of his handguns he would only sell out of state. Hmmm, why no PPT?
I feel something shady is going on but I left it alone because it's really none of my business.sigpic
