Question for the group Encore rifle to pistol

It seems to me that if you have a T/C Encore (or even a Contender) that was purchased as a rifle, It would have to be re-Drossed to legally make it into a pistol in this State. If you were stopped with it in Pistol furniture the cops would not find it in there registration inquire if it was only purchased as a rifle.

You can not re DROS a rifle as a handgun. There is a ATF memo regarding their ruling on the Contender KITS which came with one receiver and the makin's for both rifles and pistols however, this ruling was for those specific kits and not every Contender manufactured.

so, a long gun is not specifically registered to an individual like a handgun and I have been told that the State does not blink an eye at non registered handguns being PPT, The Thompsons are exempt from the Roster being single action and single shot. Who would even be able to find out if the receiver was originally sold as a rifle or handgun?
