    "NO SALES TO CALIFORNIA"

I see this a lot on GunBroker when I am perusing the C&Rs that are up for auction (I like Mosin Nagants).
I have an FFL3 and being the holder of this license, does the out of state gun dealer/seller still have to worry about going through all of the CA DOJ paperwork or can he/she do a normal C&R type transfer with me? I'm not really into pistols, I like long guns.

03 FFLs and C&R long guns are exempt from California's CFLC program. 50+ year old C&R long guns can be shipped directly to you if you have an 03 FFL.

The CFLC only applies to firearms being shipped from a FFL to a FFL, which does not include C&R FFLs. So, if the firearm were to be shipped to a FFL from a private party, no letter is required. Also, if you have a C&R FFL and the firearm can be directly shipped to you (non-handguns), then no CFLC letter is required.
