    1993 Sig 226 xfer

I bought this gun in 1993, along with a few 15 round magazines. I am aware to sell the Sig, I simply go through an FFL in the normal process.

What about the magazines? Do/can they stay with the Sig? If not, what happens with them? Thanks in advance.

(apologies if this has been covered, I paged through several and tried searching- no joy.)

The magazines can only be sold or transferred to someone who is exempt or is out of state. If the FFL has a high capacity magazine permit, then they can accept them. Some FFLs will trade them for a 10 rounds magazine, others will just keep them.

My personal suggestion would be for you to keep them. You can not currently replace them.

"normal process" can mean a few different things. West German P226, your going to want to do a PPT, if possible. (Has nothing to do with the mags)

To save costs, it is best to do a PPT. Also, if the buyer is denied, you get the gun back right away with a PPT.

Mags can be disassembled and sold as repair kits.
