A friend of mine would like to purchase one of my handgun but he has a record when he was a teen. Probably got locked up in Juvenile Detention Center. Is DOJ will deny him bec. of his past records?

Records can get sealed but you must ask the courts to do so. How do I know??? I have done it.

Denial is based on what he did.

If there is any question, he can submit the following form:

He can also call the CA DOJ and ask.

I recommend the PFEC. Also depending on the charge he may be eligible to have it reduced or expunged. Have him do the PFEC first. Even if his record was supposed to be sealed it may not have been. It is a lot easier to correct it with a PFEC they send you the form.
